Being green is all about pressing for change. Come along and meet the people who are pushing the green agenda in York in our stalls area.

The deadline for stall applications has now passed. Here's who you can expect to meet at the Festival:

Solar Cinema

We're pleased to be welcoming back Kinotastic who will be showing a selection of non-copyrighted films throughout the Festival in their custom-built big top, entirely powered by solar energy.

Bike Powered Racing

Local cycle promotion company Get Cycling will give participants a chance to have a go on the four-rider, pedal-powered Scalextric racing game. Pit your speed and control against your friends.

Drumming Area

Daftasadrum and the York Drum Circle are offering interactive, family-friendly drumming circle workshops. Every half hour on the half hour.

Campaign and Community Groups

York Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Askham Bryan College
Local education institute promoting their land-based courses.

International development charity working in Latin America, West Africa and Middle East, focussing on human rights. Will be running some craft activities for children.

Sandra Geere
Local kitchen garden design and consultancy, drawing upon knowledge of organic fruit and veg growing, especially in a small space. Sandra will also be holding a workshop at the Festival.

Bikerescue
York's bike rescue, recycling and repair depot will be along showing off some of their handiwork.

Brunswick Organic Nursery
Brunswick Organic Nursery and Craft Workshop is a productive workplace for adults with learning difficulties in Bishopthorpe, York, UK. They also grow fruit and vegetables, and maintain gardens in the community.

John Lally International Foundation
An environmental charity created to follow on from the work done in reclaiming the tip that became St Nicholas Fields. Hear about their latest sustainable development project in Rajarampur, West Bengal, India.

The Friends of Rowntree Park
The community group that that looks after Rowntree Park in collaboration with the council have been working with an artist to design a permanent art piece for the park. See what's proposed, have your say, and you can even get involved with making it!

Friends of St Nicholas Fields
St Nicholas Fields is a 24-acre Local Nature Reserve which is owned by the City of York Council and managed by a local community group. The York Environment Centre is located on the edge of the Reserve and offers environmental education sessions for schools, kerbside recycling collection, home composting advice and other services to the local community and beyond.
We're particularly grateful to the kerbside recycling team who will be collecting rubbish from the recycle bins at the festival.

York in Transition is working to build on inclusive community that can collectively tackle locally the twin challenges of climate change and peak oil. They will be promoting the group and events they wil be holding and also share some activity showing some ideas for low carbon living.
