Childrens Area
We again have a dedicated area at the Festival for parents and small children to join in green-themed activities, taking place in two tents. Don't forget to bring along your old carrier bags for the junk sculpture!
Please note that there are no crèche facilities available - children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

With eco-storytellers Nettlefoot Kate, leading groups on storytelling walks around the park, and Laura McClune, telling nature and ecology. - 11:30 - 12:00 (tent 1): Kindermusik

- Natural sculptures with Ginny Bannister
- Big Bug Junk Weaving: art sessions involving rubbish weaving - making sculptures using natural forms and junk
- Face painting and hair braiding
The Tee Bags Green Heroes Art Competition
Grab a paper bag and use wax crayon to draw your own 'Green Super Hero'
Who is your Green Hero? It might be your grandfather for growing the world’s biggest carrots, or the incredible Neeps MacTatties, wearing organic cotton underpants over his trousers. The winners, picked from three age groups, will have their design printed on a tee-shirt, and all entries will be on display in the children's area on the day. Hand in your entries to the lovely people at Lush on Coney Street.
The age groups are: Under 5's, 5-11yrs, 11yrs and over
Closing date: 3rd September
